I just picked up some NOS nanosynths. I haven't checked the batteries yet (still waiting for power supplies, which seem to have been scavenged), but I assume they'll be dead.

Has anyone replaced the batteries on one of these guys?? Is it accessible to someone handy with a soldering iron??

Thanks

You can probably find a suitable 9V AC power supply at your local electronics store. The universal ones come with all sorts of connectors, one of them should work.

Once you have the power supply, turn on the Nano for a while, see if the internal battery comes to life. These batteries can last for ever.
I have quite a few old synths and modules, and I cannot remember the last time I needed a battery.

If you're sure the battery is dead, go to the Alesis QuadraSynth Site and search the old Forum Archives for posts on how to do it.
If the Nano is designed as the other Alesis synths, you'll probably need the soldering iron.

Thanks! I'll give it a try, and see if they spark up. I ordered some 9VAC, 1A adapters with 5.5mmx2.5mm connectors from Jameco, and I should be good to go. Sounds like good advice-- if there were a ton of folks swapping out these batteries, I suppose I'd find a ton of posts about how to do it, and probably 15 youtube videos too.
