MIDI Files, Downloads and Web Resources :: Mac Creator & Type fields for MIDI sequences

I need to change the Creator and Type fields for MIDI sequences on my Mac. I used to do this all the time about 15 years ago, but I have forgotten the process and probably have lost whatever software I used ( My Mac is a standalone system and there has never been a need to upgrade the OS, therefore whatever software is suggested needs to be able to run on Mac OS 7.5. I have to help a student repair his Nord Stage 76. There may be some contamination. One key trips too soon and the other is silent. I'm hoping the panel is hinged and that by removing the six screws on each end plate the panel will lift up and the keybed and action is easily accessed. Am I dreaming? It is out of warranty of course and what would be the harm if we approach is slowly and carefully?

MIDI Hardware :: Anybody using an iPod Touch or iPad for music?

Anyone else using an iOS device for music production? I've been using an a M Audio Midi keyboard and a iPod Touch. Just bought SampleTank for iPhone and was blown away! I ordered the iRig Midi too for 48 more sounds too! Can't wait to use this live!

I've an E-mu xk-6 and I�m new in this kind of instrument.

My problem is that when i assign a channel to a trigger, this one don't care about it, and stay play the current channel.

Maybe you can help me even if you haven't the same synth.

MIDI Software :: Software just to get sound...

We've just bought 10 midi keyboard for my school for pupils to use during my classes. We've also bought an ear training software, in which one may use the keyboards.

But - I'm searching for a dead simple solution for getting sound when playing on the keyboard (Windows XP and Windows 7). There are occasions when I just want to have the keyboard making a sound, and nothing else. Is there a simple program which does that - just start the program and the keyboard will produce a sound?

MIDI Hardware :: Alesis QS6.1

I have the above keyboard and am trying to set it up for use with a Windows 7 PC. I have a midi cable with Midi In/Out connectors with USB. The software for the QS 6.1 is Windows 98. I am trying to setup for use with Finale 2011. Any ideas?

MIDI Software :: TouchOSC MIDI Controller

Hi Guys

I was round my mates house the other day and he was showing off his latest kit. We both use Ableton Live when DJing and he showed me a MIDI controller called TouchOSC running on his iPad.

You can create your own layout using sliders, knobs and buttons or download them from their website, www.touchosc.co.uk

I'm pretty keen o go out and get an iPad just to use this app. Has anyone else had any experience with it?

MIDI Hardware :: [Newbie] Need a suggestion for midi hardware

Hello community! That's my first post btw.

I have an old Casiotone CT-460 digital keyboard and I want to connect it to my PC so I can use it as a controller in Reason 5.
OS: Windows XP SP3

I want to ask for suggestions what hardware I should you use to get my PC 'MIDI-ready'. My soundcard doesnt have MIDI Interface...Is a soundcard with M.I. the cheapest way of achieving my goal? If not what is it or what is the best way? Thank you!

MIDI Hardware :: Midi and DJ lighting programs

So I use ableton live for DJing and its very easy to make a midi track and send Midi Signals from the midi track to other software that will accept midi messages (Reason, Logic, Etc..). I use American DJ's myDMX program to power my lighting gear for when I dj. Its a great program and I love it. I can use Midi controllers with this program (I use an M-Audio Axiom 25) but I cant send midi messages from other programs (Ableton) into it because myDMX doesnt have an option to select a midi controller or midi input device, it simply detects if you have a controller plugged in and uses the signal it receives. Basically What I want to do is send a Midi signal via a midi channel output from ableton live into the MyDMX program so the two programs can stay synced up with each other. is there some kind of external device or even an internal software that can me used to receive the midi messages from Ableton and re-route them to MyDMX. Like say a "virtual midi controller" that can send the signal into Mydmx to control the lights?

Hi, I just bought a Roland A 33 midi that am trying to use. I connected it to the computer directly. But i still havent got any sound coming out of it.

I have got the editor A33 that works too , so my plugging is ok.

I just would like to pay piano with it. I dont know what bottons to push to be able to do that.

AM really new in all this.

MIDI Software :: Newbie question, please

I have a m-audio midi controller which I'm using for a virtual organ project. I would also like to use it as a standalone piano instrument. I realize I need use it in conjunction with a pc.

I need a simple music creation program with several different voices, don't plan to do any editing or publishing, just playing.
