MIDI Hardware :: Newbie needs help w/ initial midi setup.

I have 2 USB devices, #1 is an Alesis SR-16 Drum machine, #2 is a Radio Shack DM-1210 Keyboard. They both have midi ins and outs. I am using a Firestudio Tube as the midi I/O , it has a midi serial port in the back. I am using Cubase 5 as my midi software to record. I have hooked up both machines with midi cables separately, but I can not get any kind of signal into the computer. Is this a Lost Cause? I want to use these 2 devices as controllers if possible. My PC computer is running Windows Vista. Any help would be greatly appreciated.........Thanks in advance...CraigL
Alesis :: Nanosynth battery

I just picked up some NOS nanosynths. I haven't checked the batteries yet (still waiting for power supplies, which seem to have been scavenged), but I assume they'll be dead.

Has anyone replaced the batteries on one of these guys?? Is it accessible to someone handy with a soldering iron??

Thanks
Music related discussions :: Ibanez electric guitars

I was at Guitar Center recently and was looking at their Ibanez electric guitars. I really like the body style, tremolo, and different paintjobs and finishes. But I was confused and nobody was available to answer my questions. Does anyone know what the different model numbers mean. It seemed like the higher the number the more expensive they were but I was wondering about the features or pickups or whatever might be different from one to the other. Thanks
_________________
Check Out These Bangin' RnB Beats
Classical MIDI Connection :: CMC, what a great resource - thank you!

Just thought I'd drop in and say what a great resource the CMC is for classical music lovers and sequencers.

It's a credit to those who maintain and contribute to it.

And it's a great learning resource too!
I've worked through a number of the sequences on the site and learned a lot about how good sequences are put together.

Long may it continue.
BTW no connection.

Audio Software :: Good midi drum software

Hello,
I have been searching around for some good drum software, the drums on my keyboard are not very realistic :S so I have just bought a midi cable for my keyboard.
It works fine and so does the software, but i just haven't been able to find any midi drum programs.
_________________
2gb sd cards
Audio Hardware :: CD Recorders, Anyone.

My CD player, which I had used for 15 years, just died a natural death. I need to buy a new one.

I am intrigued by the CD recorders on the market, such as the Denon CDR-W1500, which allows you to record any outside source (turntable, cassette deck, radio, CDs) onto CD-Rs--without using a computer.

Has anyone tried this Denon product, or another CD recorder, and if so, what did you think of it.
_________________
2gb sd cards
Audio Software :: Soundcard for Music

Hey.
I'm a bout to buy a new system, and I decided not to buy a soundcard yet, because I thought I'd save up some money and buy a better one.
I don't really know much about this whole audio business so I decided I'll ask here, even though I probably won't buy the card yet, maybe in 1-2 months, but I doubt much will change

So, basically, I don't even have speakers, and I don't see any reason why I would need speakers, so I don't need any 7.1 surround stuff, although I would prefer to have a 2.1 or even 5.1 if I for some reason decide to buy speakers at some point (But I don't mind having 7.1).
For now however, I'm using my Sennheiser HD555's, and they are just pure awesome, even without an preamp they sound great!
Currently I'm listening to music with my onboard soundcard, and while it's certainly better than my previous "set up" which consisted of 15€ speakers it just sounds crap...
Anyway, I don't know if there are any good or bad soundcards for headphones, but if there is, I would definitely prefer something more headphone oriented.
And finally, I'd be spending something from 75-125€, but feel free to suggest cheaper ones, or even more expensive ones, I usually tend to stretch my budget..
_________________
2gb sd cards
MIDI Hardware :: suggestions for setting up two pedals to control cc64 &

I would like to add a second pedal to my system to be used to control CC67 (soft) for my EWQL Piano program. Unfortunately my old 88 key Korg SG-1D has only one quarter inch jack input and it is for controlling CC64 (sustain). (The only keyboard I am aware of with both sustain and soft input is the M Audio ProKeys 88 - 88-Key Hammer-Action Premium Stage Piano.) Is there any devise (with either midi out or USB out) into which I can plug the quarter inch jack of a midi pedal and program it to control CC67 (soft)? The output of the devise could connect to a midi input on my Cakewalk UM-3 or could connect directly to a USB input on my computer (OS=Windows 7.) The only USB midi pedal I have seen for sale is the CME gpp-3 and it has been discontinued. Any suggestions for setting up two pedals to control both CC64 and CC67 it would be greatly appreciated.
Korg :: How do I transfer sounds from Korg M1 synth onto computer?

Hi everyone
I have just bought the KLCDE and loving it (better late than never eh!). My problem is that I have an old M1 sound card which came with my Korg M1 synth many many years ago, but it is not a Korg maufactured set of sounds. I need to get these uploaded into my computer and onto the KLCDE M1 software so that I can use these 'old' sounds for midi recording using Cubase.

Please could someone post instructions on how I can do this, i.e. the easiest way to upload these from my Korg M1 synth onto my computer, then load or import into the KLCDE M1 software program on my computer.

Alternatively does any one recognise the set of sounds I am talking about (and know of where I can access them digitally for legal download):
The card is called SoundCard, Peter Gorges, METRA Sound.
...with 100 studio sounds & 100 combinations) and contains the following named sounds:
Program:
I00 [M1 Grand]
I01 Klavier
I02 Foster !
I03 Operator !
etc..
Combination:
I00 WelcomeTo
I01 a new M1
I02 200Guitars
etc..

Looking forward to hearing from anyone who may be able to offer any help/advice.

Thank you!

Hi, I know this is trouble, but I took my polysix to a "recommended" repair shop in December for a battery repair. When I got it back the phase/ensemble speed knob didn't work and it was also horribly stretched out of tune. I took it back and he keeps stalling me and doesn't have any answers. Does anyone know of someone in the Maryland area that can fix this? What did this guy do to my keyboard? regards, Jim
